If you only go to one place on this list, make it Azafran. It's the first restaurant in Camarillo bringing Colombian food to town. Chef and co-owner Weiman Gallego runs the kitchen, and the menu is Latin fusion in the best sense: Colombian arepas, Peruvian ceviche from his time in Peru, pan seared octopus, plus seasonal entrees that rotate with local produce.

Owner Maria Daza named the restaurant after the Spanish word for saffron. Her hope was for Azafran to be "the special and the different in Camarillo." A year in, that's exactly what it is. Small space, intimate vibe, consistently great food. A true hidden gem.

The cocktails are the main event. The Painkiller and Hurricane are both standouts, and the food genuinely holds up too. Coconut shrimp, loco moco, and spam musubi all fit the Hawaiian-inspired vibe and taste great. Plan ahead on this one: make a reservation, order the drinks, and let the atmosphere do its thing.

Lola Betty's is one of the few places in Camarillo doing authentic Filipino food, which makes it a local treasure. It has that family-run, cooked-with-care feel that you just can't fake. Portions are generous, flavors are bold and comforting, and everything is made to order. Expect a bit of a wait. It's worth it.

The chicken adobo is the kind of dish that makes you understand why Filipino cooking has such a loyal following. The BBQ chicken and short ribs are just as good, and the lumpia is non-negotiable as a side. Grab your order and take it outside. There are picnic tables, or you can head across the street with a drink and make an afternoon of it.

Twisted Oak is Camarillo's answer to "where do we go for a fun night out?" Lively, social, and the menu is big enough that everyone in your group finds something they love. Good food, strong drinks, great vibe.

The short rib nachos are legendary, the lobster mac & cheese is indulgent in exactly the right way, and the PB&J burger is one of those things that sounds weird until you try it. Strong drinks, live music most nights, and one of the few spots in town where you can keep the evening going past 9pm. The service consistently gets praised too, which matters.
