Best Restaurants in Camarillo

Five restaurants worth the drive across town. Chef-driven Colombian Latin fusion, an immersive tiki bar, authentic Filipino home cooking, a no-frills taqueria, a proper night-out gastropub. These are the places I actually go back to.

House of Bamboo Tiki Lounge

💰 $$–$$$ 🌴 Immersive experience 🍹 Craft cocktails 📅 Reservations recommended

There is nothing else like House of Bamboo Tiki Lounge in Ventura County. A fully immersive tiki bar with special effects, simulated rainstorms, and attention to detail that goes far beyond what you expect. The kind of place you take out-of-town guests when you want to surprise them.

The cocktails are the main event. The Painkiller and Hurricane are both standouts, and the food genuinely holds up too. Coconut shrimp, loco moco, and spam musubi all fit the Hawaiian-inspired vibe and taste great. Plan ahead on this one: make a reservation, order the drinks, and let the atmosphere do its thing.

📢 What to order Painkiller (cocktail) · Hurricane (cocktail) · Coconut shrimp · Loco moco · Spam musubi
Best for date nights, birthdays, special occasions, and showing Camarillo off to people who don't believe something this cool exists here. Make a reservation.

Establos Meat Market

💰 $ ⚡ Quick service 🥡 Great for takeout 👥 Casual & groups

Establos is the kind of spot that looks unassuming from the outside and completely delivers every single time. Big, filling portions, super flavorful meats, and that authentic market-plus-taqueria feel where everything tastes freshly made. The lengua and cabeza are standouts, and if you haven't tried their ceviche or chicharrón tacos, you're missing out.

My go-to order is the tamales and a breakfast burrito, but honestly it's hard to go wrong here. Fast service, no-frills atmosphere, consistently hits. This is Camarillo comfort food at its best.

📢 What to order Tamales · Breakfast burrito · Lengua tacos · Ceviche · Chicharrón tacos
Best for casual meals, quick lunch stops, takeout, and low-key hangouts. The kind of place you grab something really good and satisfying without any fuss.

Lola Betty's Kitchen

💰 $–$$ 🏡 Home-style 🥡 Great for takeout 🌿 Outdoor seating

Lola Betty's is one of the few places in Camarillo doing authentic Filipino food, which makes it a local treasure. It has that family-run, cooked-with-care feel that you just can't fake. Portions are generous, flavors are bold and comforting, and everything is made to order. Expect a bit of a wait. It's worth it.

The chicken adobo is the kind of dish that makes you understand why Filipino cooking has such a loyal following. The BBQ chicken and short ribs are just as good, and the lumpia is non-negotiable as a side. Grab your order and take it outside. There are picnic tables, or you can head across the street with a drink and make an afternoon of it.

📢 What to order Chicken adobo · BBQ chicken · Short ribs · Pancit · Lumpia (get the side, always)
Best for takeout, casual meals, and outdoor hangs. The kind of place you bring people to introduce them to Filipino food for the first time.

Best Night Out · #5

Twisted Oak Tavern

💰 $$ 🍺 Great drinks 🎵 Live music 🌙 Open late

Twisted Oak is Camarillo's answer to "where do we go for a fun night out?" Lively, social, and the menu is big enough that everyone in your group finds something they love. Good food, strong drinks, great vibe.

The short rib nachos are legendary, the lobster mac & cheese is indulgent in exactly the right way, and the PB&J burger is one of those things that sounds weird until you try it. Strong drinks, live music most nights, and one of the few spots in town where you can keep the evening going past 9pm. The service consistently gets praised too, which matters.

📢 What to order Short rib nachos · Lobster mac & cheese · PB&J burger · Cuban sandwich
Best for happy hour, group dinners, casual date nights, and nights out when you want good food, good drinks, and live music all in one place.
